Students in Mrs. Cannon’s Science 8 class made Super Heroes based on an element from the Periodic Table. Each student presented his/her superhero with a detailed presentation that explained the element, properties and uses of the element.
Members of the 8th grade Agriculture Exploration class made Mrs. Burke a gift today. Students used lathe to turn a pen. This is a project that all of Mrs. Rhudy’s 8th grade students get to complete during the agricultural mechanics rotation.

🕹️💿 The Glade Spring Middle School office staff threw it back to the totally rad 1990s for Homecoming Week! From scrunchies to flannel, they rocked the retro vibes in true Glade Spring style.
Glade Spring Middle School’s theme for the 2025-2026 school year is Let the Adventure Begin. GSMS selected The Call of the Wild as its All School Reads book this year. Students in multi-grade reading groups completed the book and then were able to attend the play of The Call of the Wild at the Barter Theater. Our adventure has definitely begun at GSMS already this year!

🚀🥚 At Glade Spring Middle School, Ms. Stevens’s 6th grade Exploring Technology students put their engineering skills to the test!
They designed 3D-printed containers and padded them with recycled materials to see if they could protect an egg during a rooftop drop experiment.
Let’s just say the eggs didn’t quite make it this round… but the students had a cracking good time learning about design, problem-solving, and testing ideas!

There, they met with students to share the importance of the National Child Identification Program I.D. Kit — a tool designed to help families keep their children safe.
We are grateful to AG Miyares, Former Governor George Allen, Delegate Israel O’Quinn, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, and our community partners for taking the time to empower and educate our students.
Together, we’re working to keep kids safe both online and in our community.
