✨ Special Recognition Tonight at John S. Battle High School, we were proud to recognize several special guests whose leadership and support continue to make a difference for Washington County Public Schools. We were joined by Delegate Israel O’Quinn and his wife Emily O’Quinn, along with Senator Todd Pillion, who continue to advocate for our students and schools at the state level. We also extend our gratitude to our local partners -- School Board Members Adam Wilson and Jenny Nichols; Board of Supervisors Members Saul Hernandez and Dwayne Ball; County Administrator Jason Berry; Commonwealth’s Attorney Josh Cumbow; Sheriff Blake Andis; and Commissioner of the Revenue April Crabtree -- for their ongoing commitment to our schools and community. Thanks to the collaboration of these incredible leaders, John S. Battle High School has seen exciting facility improvements -- including new auditorium seating, updated flooring, lighting, and stage enhancements, along with freshly painted walls. Outside, the parking lot has been paved and striped, new handrails have been added at the football stadium, and a wheelchair-accessible viewing area has been created -- all contributing to a safer, more inclusive, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and families. A special thank-you goes to Dr. Chad Wallace and our WCPS maintenance team for their hard work and dedication in bringing these projects to life.
