Kindergarteners at Greendale Elementary learned about the events of the first Thanksgiving and to compare the present and past through a series of events the past two weeks. They participated in activities Pilgrim children may have done such as churning butter, making cornbread, writing on slates with horn books, sewing, building log cabins, and playing colonial games. They also had a dress up Thanksgiving feast with their families.

On Thursday evening, November 9th, fourth graders had fun creating a rocket and testing it to see how it could fly during their Stem activity. On Thursday, November 16th, fourth graders wrote about all the things for which they are thankful.

Greendale's 2nd Graders went to visit Stickley Farms in Sullivan County, Tennessee.
Each student enjoyed the inflatables, a corn maze, fun slides, seeing farm animals, going on a hayride, playing on fun farm themed swings and climbing equipment, and having a picnic lunch on the farm. It was a fun filled day where students learned many things about corn, walnuts, farm animals, pumpkins, and scarecrows.

Don’t forget!!!

Our second annual Student vs Staff Flag Football game was a hit this Friday! Although the staff team won by one touchdown in the last 5 minutes of the game, we had a blast on the field cheering for our teams. 5th Grade students worked diligently the days leading up to the game as a news crew, mascot team, football team, pep band, student section, and spirit squad. We are so proud of their hard work and school spirit!
